What Is Powerbuilding — and Why Women Love It!

If you’ve ever wanted to feel strong and look strong — powerbuilding is where it’s at. And it’s exactly how I train my clients.

Powerbuilding is a mix of powerlifting (think heavy lifts like squats, deadlifts and bench press) and bodybuilding (the stuff that shapes and sculpts your muscles). You get stronger, build muscle, and feel more confident — all in one style of training.

Why this works so well for women

Most of the women I work with want to:

  • Feel strong in their everyday life

  • Build lean, defined muscle

  • Improve bone health, balance, and posture

  • Actually enjoy training — not dread it

Powerbuilding ticks all those boxes.

You’re not just lifting weights for the sake of it. You’re learning how to push yourself, track your progress, and see real changes — not just in the mirror, but in how you move and feel. And that’s incredibly motivating.

What a typical session looks like

In my coaching, most sessions follow this structure:

  • Start with a main lift: We focus on strength with lower reps and heavier weight (like 3–6 reps)

  • Follow with accessories: These are your muscle-building exercises — slightly lighter weight, more reps (8–15), and lots of variety

  • Always progressing: We gradually increase either weight, reps, or complexity week by week

Why my clients love it

Because it’s:
Empowering – you feel capable, strong, and proud of what your body can do
Visible progress – strength goes up, muscle definition improves, and that confidence? Through the roof
Sustainable – you don’t need to train every day or spend hours in the gym
Fun and focused – there’s a clear plan, but also room to enjoy the process

If you’ve ever felt like your workouts were a bit aimless or like you were doing “random stuff” without seeing change — powerbuilding is the opposite of that.

It’s structured, it’s effective, and it’s made for real results.
